MISSIONS UPDATE
Summer 2007 was a time of six different missions trips. A report was shared with the congregation on Wednesday evening, August 22. The mission trips were:
A two-day trip to eastern Kentucky to deliver luggage and other items collected for students in Owsley County.
The College Mission Trip was to San Antonio, Texas to work with several inner-city missions projects.
The Middle School Mission Trip was to Atlanta, Georgia to work with an inner-city children's program.
The 4th annual "Book Buddies" trip to eastern Kentucky worked with the elementary school in a summer learning program and delivered over 2,000 books.
The High School students traveled to South Dakota on a mission trip to repair homes on a Lakota Indian reservation.
The 3rd annual Family Mission Trip to Eastern Kentucky provided varied activites for teenagers including the painting of a dozen houses.
THANK YOU for your prayers and financial support for these groups.

MISSION INVOLVEMENT AT PROVIDENCE: From its beginning as a church, Providence has been extensively involved in missions. Through the years, this involvement has been expanded to include a range of activities from Monthly Collection Projects to Mission Trips to other continents.
Listed below is a sampling of the missions activities throughout the year. Providence supports additional mission endeavors in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area with financial aid and personal involvement.
Missions projects in other counties, states, and countries occur as various times through the year depending on the requests for assistance and the availability of volunteers. You are invited to visit the other mission pages as listed in the left column.
