OUR MINISTRIES
MINISTRIES at Providence are designed for all ages, babies through senior adults.

The configuration of our Ministry Team Staff is an indication of our commitment to this statement.  The staff includes a Minister to Children and Their Families, Minister to Youth and Their Families, Weekday Education Director, Minister of Adult Education, Recreaton/Activities Director, and Parish Nurse, among others.

It is impossible to list all of our ministries.  In the left column on this page you will find a web-page for most of our ministries.  Please "click" on the ministry name and you will taken to the respective page.

Our newsletter "Connections" is an excellent way to be informed regarding the ministries on a weekly basis.  You will find information regarding our newsletter on the "CONNECTING" section listed in the left column of this page.  In that section, there is a web-page specifically for the newsletter.

Our MINISTRIES are designed FOR all ages and TO involve all ages in a ministry to one another.  For more information call us at 704.366.2784 or e-mail us at info@providencebc.org.

Report of the Facilities Planning Task Force - 2006

It is an exciting time for the Facilities Planning Task Force.  After a many month process of needs identification, priority setting and design consultant selection, we are beginning to look at ideas on paper.  Currently the process is very dynamic with ideas put out, limitations identified and new ideas examined.  We hope that we can create some well thought-out design alternatives in the next few weeks.

The priorities identified in our planning process continue to guide us.  There is no need to repeat the report here but key areas of focus are: 1) infrastructure (i.e. plumbing and heating and air conditioning) repairs and upgrading;  2) an improved children’s area;  3) accessibility;  4) security;  5) improved kitchen, fellowship and music areas; and 6) classroom space.

Our design consultant, WGM Design, Inc. has added to our understanding of our facility by their due diligence including usage studies and circulation analyses.  The committee members continue to provide varied points of view and comment from their different perspectives.  Pastor Al Cadenhead has kept us mindful of the broader mission and ministry that should underlie all our thinking.

The initial conceptual studies have made it apparent that the existing facility and grounds are an excellent base to start from with any number of alternatives possible in making changes and improvements.  WGM design has done an excellent job to date in preparing the dimensions and layout of different approaches.  We are excited about the possibilities and plan to have ideas to share very soon.
