PROVIDENCE is committee oriented. Currently there are 28 standing committees, one ad-hoc committee - the Facilities Planning Task Force, and two special situation committees. The committees at Providence are empowered with the responsibility and authority to provide leadership for the assigned duties as outlined in the Committee Manual as adopted by the Church.
The Nominating Committee of the church is charged with the responsibility for enlisting and recommending individuals to serve on the various committees. Committees are structured with rotating three-year terms, therefore, the number of persons serving on a committee is a multiple of three.
The current requirements to serve on a committee are: a committee member must have been a member of the church for at least one year prior to active membership on the committee.
List below are the STANDING COMMITTEES and the individuals who chair those committees.
